So you’ve discovered then Law of Attraction and you’re super pumped about creating results with your findings!
You set your intention, put it out there then you sit back and wait….and wait…and wait.
Does that sound familiar?
When you don’t get the results you want fast, it can be hard not to take it all personally.
The first thing to understand is that this isn’t because the Law isn’t working!
It’s always working–just like gravity!
The true problem always comes back to us. And I’m willing to bet there’s a good chance that you’ve probably just gotten in your own way.
So if you’re serious about getting results, then it’s time to troubleshoot your manifesting practice!
Today we’re going to dive right into the three main reasons why you’re not manifesting results so you can make the adjustments and get back on track again.
3 Reasons Why You’re Not Getting Results With The Law Of Attraction
Reason #1: You Don’t Really Want It
Well here it is–the most obvious and important manifesting question of all–do you really want your goal or intention?
And I mean on a heart and soul, cell-shifting passion sort of level?
It wouldn’t be all that weird if the answer was actually no.
Sometimes we attempt to manifest things because we think we should: Because everyone else is doing it. Because that’s just the way it is! Because that’s what we’ve always wanted. Because what else would we even do?
Or maybe you’re trying to manifest for some dark reasons: Because we want to one-up someone or to show someone that we were right. Or because we want to validate ourselves from someone or something in your past.
As I always say, you can manifest anything you want as long as you’re clear about your why.
But if you’re coming from one of those dark places (revenge, ego-boosting), then your energy is still tied to that dark place. It’s pretty damn difficult to manifest things when your core energy is hurt or anger!
It’s also difficult to manifest things that you aren’t actually all that pumped about!
So it’s time to get honest with yourself! In the end, you’re living your life for you. Trying to prove something to someone else or to follow the pack is just taking your precious time and energy away from the things that you do want.
The Cure: Always make sure your manifesting wishes are aligned to your soul mission! Your purpose. Your life’s work! And if you don’t know what that is quite yet, then go for the things that truly light you up–not the things that you think other people will be impressed with you for.
Reason #2: You Don’t Believe You Can Have It
Do you really (again, like with your whole heart) believe that you CAN have your intention?
It’s one thing to want something. It’s an entirely different game to truly believe that you can have it!
Many of us get stuck on feeling worthy of our goals. We want something but we also have a million excuses why we can’t have it: We’re not skinny or pretty enough. We haven’t “earned” it. No one’s told us we can Who do we think we are asking for that anyway?
If this resonates with you then it’s time to work on your worthiness levels! And the best way to do that is to just throw the idea of worthiness straight out the window.
The problem with the idea of worthiness is that when we fall for that line of thinking, we never ever truly measure up to where we think we should be. There will always be more work to do, more effort to put in, more weight to lose, a boyfriend to find. Our brain is really good at looking at successful people and figuring out all the “reasons” why we’re so different from them–and then turning that into an excuse for us not being there!
It’s totally normal to have doubts and even experience some negative emotions around your intention. But if you can’t EVER get on the level of believing that your wish can be yours, then you’ve got some work to do.
The Cure: One of the best ways to jump over this hoop is to look for people who embody the thing you want. No one is perfect! There’s surely SOMEONE out there in the world who’s doing the damn thing despite all the million excuses your brain has told you are in your way. Find that person (or those people!) and spend your energy (aka time and attention) on them. The more you can train your brain to see that all those reasons its come up with are stupid, the easier it will be for you to conquer those limiting beliefs and move forward!
Reason #3: You Think Something Bad Will Happen If You Get It
Secret worries about future potential problems are the sneakiest of all the manifesting blocks!
Life isn’t perfect! And that means when we up-level our life and start going for new scary goals, then we’ll automatically inherit a whole new set of problems! (“Mo’ money, mo’ problems!” as they say!)
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have MORE problems in your life. But every intention and goal (no matter how good!) will give you a whole set of new ones.
The real issue here is that our brain likes to keep us comfy and cozy. Above all else, it’s primary job is to keep us SAFE (so we can have babies and keep that DNA going!). So our brain is hyper-wired to be on the constant lookout for DANGER. (We’re all the descendants of people who SURVIVED all that danger!)
Obviously, in this modern age, the new situations and problems we’re inviting into our life are rarely actually dangerous but our brain hasn’t got the memo just yet! It would rather stay over here, dealing with the shitty problems we already have, thank-you-very-much. Because even though we have problems now, at least we already KNOW what these problems are. Who knows what those new problems are all about! And the unknown=eeeek.
The Cure: It’s time to take over our brain and let it know we’re in charge!
The best thing to do in this situation is to acknowledge all the potential problems square on so that our brain won’t feel so unprepared (and therefore likely to run away or self-sabotage).
This is where I like to play the Why? Game Which really means just asking yourself the question why three times.
Here’s an example of the Why? Game at work:
Q #1: Why don’t I want to get the raise at work?
A: Because I’ll have to take over a bunch of new responsibilities and I’m not sure I can handle it.
Q #2: Why don’t I think I can handle it?
A: Because I get nervous around new things and the person who currently does that job does it so well.
Q #3: Why do I think that person can handle better than I can?
A: That person has been there for years and is much older than me! I’m not sure I can keep up.
Seeing your fears for exactly what they are has a funny way of lessening their hold over you. Of course, every new job has a learning curve! You’re allowed to take some time to pick up a new skill, even if that involves making a few mistakes along the way. Thinking that you can’t do something because someone else can do it better is of course totally false!
Your core fears are always hiding just below the surface so make sure you do the work of taking a good long look!
In the end, when it comes to overcoming your manifesting “problems” the answer is always to hold the intention and have patience. You have to hold faith, even when it looks dire. You have to hold faith, even when your deadline has come and gone. You have to hold faith, even when shiny objects come up that are close but not quite what you want. You have to hold faith because you will be tested.
So how well are you passing your test?
