Are you thinking of working with a life coach?

Maybe you have some big life goals that you’re serious about chasing down!

Or maybe you need a little help to get un-stuck and to start feeling better about yourself!

There are lots of reasons why working with a coach might be the right idea for you.

But maybe might now right now you’re wondering if it’s really worth it.

And I get it! Until a few years ago, I would never have considered working with a life coach! (Much less considered becoming one myself!) When I was in school for psychology, life coaching was never presented to us as a career option.

But in the last decade or so, life coaching has shifted from being something of a “fringe” activity to going very mainstream. It used to be considered something that only very rich or successful people could do. But today life coaching has become much more normalized.

(Just like how personal trainers used to be considered something only rich and famous people have! Nowadays it’s very common for “normal” people to have their own trainers.)

These days I view a life coach as an essential element of a happy and successful life!

Of course, it’s possible to build those things on your own. But having an outside person to help you not only motivates you to keep going but it can also help you to create new breakthroughs and achieve your goals at lightning speed.

Remember, the whole purpose of you being a human here on the planet is to be divinely, wonderfully YOU! It’s very difficult to live up to your true purpose when you’re falling into old habits and wallowing around in fear and self-doubt!

So today I thought I would share some reasons why you need a life coach–just in case you were inspired to start taking your life to the next level!

Why You Need A Life Coach Reason #1:

Accountability


Let’s face it! Despite our best intentions, most of us tend to wimp out when it comes to putting our grand life plans into action. Even though we really want the great relationship, the money, the career success, we also always manage to find a way to come up short for ourselves.

However, this is just human nature–and definitely not a reflection of your actual capabilities!

For example: take two people who want to start a workout routine. One person commits to getting up and going running every morning while the other signs up with a trainer and commits to going to the gym every morning. Which person do you think will have the most success? Obviously, it’s the person who picked the trainer! When we have someone else there watching our every move, we are way less likely to slack on our commitments.

It’s the same when it comes to life coaching! Yes of course you can make any change you set your mind to! But sometimes the extra push of having someone else helping you is what makes your commitment really stick.

Check Your Blind Spots


Humans are creatures of habit, which is both good and bad. On the one hand, if you have a habit that’s working for you then everything is great! Your happiness/success/health is on autopilot with that habit. But when the habit isn’t so great? Then it’s going to continue to pop up and create blocks on your way to success!

The real problem with habits is that they are so ingrained in us that sometimes we don’t even realize they’re even there! We think the way we do things is “just the way it is”–when maybe the way you’re doing something is exactly what’s holding you back!

When you get stuck in a pattern, it’s all too easy to fall into victim mode and to blame the world around you. (“Why does this keep happening to me?”) A coach can help you to see the situation differently, effectively freeing you from your self-made prison of suffering.

Subconscious Reprogramming



We already know a life coach can help you to see the blocks that are holding you back in life! However, this process can go much deeper if you have a coach who’s trained in subconscious reprogramming.

The battle between our conscious desires and our subconscious needs is actually what creates so much friction in our life! Our good intentions are simply not enough to manifest.

We want something–yet it seems that no matter what we do we face obstacle after obstacle and end up back in the same place. But despite how this feels, it’s actually us who’s getting in our own way, through the limiting beliefs, unhelpful programming and negative ideas we hold about ourselves and the world.

Of course you can begin the process of subconscious reprogramming on your own! But working with a coach who’s trained in NLP (or something similar) will help you get the results you desire so much faster.

Shift Your Identity


We’ve all experienced a loss of momentum when it comes to our goals! Just think about your New Years Resolutions for example! We often have the best of intentions for going to the gym, eating healthy etc. But by the time February rolls around, most of us are right back to our old patterns. Frustrating, right?

The reason for that is that our inner identity simply has not changed to what we want it to be! You are attempting to make your actions change your identity when it should really be the other way around. For this example, it’s crucial to start thinking of yourself as a person who’s invested in his or her health. Your actions will always reflect who you really think you are so it’s important to address that part of the equation! And a life coach can definitely help you to do that.

Boost Your Self-Worth


As you might know if you’ve been hanging around here for a while: self-worth is really the key to manifestation! When we don’t feel worthy of our desires, of course we’re going to have difficulty manifesting them.

This has a lot to do with our identity but our worth plays a big role as well! Most of us have some pretty outdated and damaged ideas about what we’re worthy of.

Focus On You


No matter how invested you are in self-care, you might still be missing out on some real “me time”. We all have partners, friends and family who love us. But even though they support us, they might not support us in the way we really need it.

Many times our friends and family can actually get in the way of what we really want! When it comes down to it, change can be seen as threatening by those around us. They don’t want us to change because they want to keep us “safe” (and thereby keep themselves “safe” too!). But of course that often just pushes us farther away from what we really want.

Sometimes you need someone with a more neutral perspective who is really willing to listen to your desires and to push you towards achieving them. A life coach will hold space for both who you are now and who you really want to become!

Go All In


Hiring a life coach is about much more than a monetary transaction! Once you start paying for something, you send a subconscious signal to your brain to start really taking it seriously. This is magic! Theoretically, you could be working with a low-quality coach and still achieve amazing results just because of this new level of commitment. So just imagine what your world would be like if you worked with a great coach?

Working with a coach is a massive sign that you’re willing to go all in about busting through limiting beliefs and finally feeling good about yourself. You’re showing up with your money (which is a form of energy), your time and your commitment to yourself. Yes of course, you are definitely capable of setting goals for yourself! But when you’re paying someone and you’re sticking to a coaching schedule (like 3 or 6 months) you will likely push yourself that much farther during that time period.

Of course, there is a ton of magic in the coaching practice itself. But there’s even more magic in the simple process of committing to the coaching process and showing up fully for your dreams.

Confession time: I have quite a rebellious spirit. If someone tells me I can’t do something, that usually just makes me more determined to do it!

(It’s a Scorpio thing ☺️ )

But that rebellious spirit is exactly why I love challenging the status quo when it comes to creating an amazing life.

Our modern society is kind of a funny thing. We all like to think we’re pretty darn unique. Yet so many of us are trying to create a cookie-cutter sort of life!

When you step away from the expected, people actually have a lot of opinions about what your life “should” look like! For example:


If you’re spiritual there’s no WAY you can be rich or sexy.

If you’re sexy, it’s highly unlikely that you can also be spiritual or rich.

If you’re rich, you might be sexy but you definitely won’t be spiritual.

But why put limits on your awesome-ness levels?

Instead of upholding those ridiculously old-fashioned beliefs, it’s time to start dreaming of a better way to live!


It’s about time we all called bullshit on these outdated concepts. Why can’t you have your cake and eat it too?

Thinking that you can’t have it all is just a story that YOU are choosing to believe.

If you want to slay your life in every way, it’s time to change up the story!

It’s time to dream bigger.

So consider this post my call to arms! It’s time to stop settling for what you’ve been told is possible. If you want to be rich, sexy and spiritual then it’s time to do go out there and do it baby! So let’s get started:

On the surface, being rich, sexy and spiritual might seem like wildly different things. But it’s time to stop believing they’re mutually exclusive! When you really dive into what each component means, you’ll soon notice they actually have a lot in common:


Rich, Sexy + Spiritual Principle #1:

Why It’s Important To Be Rich


Money is a simply an extension of YOU. Which means if there’s not enough of it in your life right now, you’ve likely got some issues around self-worth to work on.

Not to say that it’s all your fault! Money is a tricky topic for many. While we’re all inherently involved in the pursuit of it, it’s also common to have some very mixed feelings about it.(“Money is the root of all evil”, “Rich people are greedy” etc etc,)

If deep down in your heart you believe that money is bad or that you’re a bad person for wanting it, then it’s going to be difficult to create a life of abundance!

Money isn’t powerful in itself! But it does amplify your power. If you’re spiritually inclined then it will do you and the whole world some good for you to have some more of it! Being rich means you can put your will into motion. Your money can support charities, small business, organic food etc etc. It can buy you yoga classes or let you volunteer abroad for six months. Money gets shit done! Becoming rich just allows you to create more of what you want to see in the world.

Why It’s Important To Be Sexy


Just to be clear, the sexiness I’m referring to here is NOT about fitting into a size two, bleaching your teeth or getting Botox. If you have or want those things, great! But if not, don’t worry–this isn’t about fitting into one rigid idea of what attractiveness is.

The sexiness I’m talking about is all about attitude. The one trait all sexy people have in common is confidence.

When someone knows both who they are and what they want, they become downright irresistible.

We don’t want to spend time with people who are focused on the negative things in life! We want to be around people who inspire and energize us. When we see someone who’s totally living in their authenticity, it’s hard to keep our eyes off of them. That means real sexiness is about far more than your physical form! It’s about your mindset and your attitude, your ability to make life happen.

Basically, attractive people are always total bad-asses! So let’s up your sexiness levels. It’s time to get clear on your values. Establish those boundaries. Set those goals! The more self-actualized you are, the sexier you become. Period.

Why It’s Important To Be Spiritual


Cultivating a relationship with spirit is a personal journey. While I’m not here to dictate what anyone should believe in, I deeply believe we’re all spiritual beings having a human experience.

In fact, I believe we’re all just parts of the same consciousness. Our human forms are misleading. We look different and we have a very limited perspective while we’re here. But ultimately we’re all important pieces of something that’s much bigger.

Spirituality is all about feeling connected. It’s about having purpose. It creates meaning. Without connection, purpose and meaning, we end up feeling lost.

When you trust in yourself and in the divine order of the Universe, you can surrender. While it’s wildly exciting to set goals and plan your life, it’s also important to own our limitations. We can control our perspective, our focus and our attitude. But there are many factors in life that are beyond us. Instead of wearing yourself out trying to micromanage every last detail in life, it feels pretty amazing to let go of the stuff that’s beyond you.

Deep down inside, you know you’re part of something bigger You’re not just here to do you, boo! You’re here to make a difference. For some, that means climbing Everest or starting a NGO. For others that’s volunteering their time or being the best mom on the block. But whatever it is, purpose and passion are the keys to an amazing life. So it’s important for you to connect with yours!




Don’t sell yourself short my darling! The only person who can really tell you you can’t do something is you! If you want to be rich, sexy and spiritual AF, then your time is now! Let’s go out there and make it happen.

How To Feel Better: 4 Simple Steps

Real talk: feeling better might not sound all that exciting at first, especially for those of us in the manifesting world!

We’re far too busy calling in 2000 new Instagram followers or adding to our shoe collection, right? We’ve got stuff to work on–and when we get that stuff, we’ll feel better so why stress about that right now? Right?

Wrong.

This line of thinking is one of the BIGGEST pitfalls of manifesting. Because of course you can have whatever you want in this world–as long as you know why you want it.

Nothing outside of you can ever truly make you feel better! Sure, some things can fill the void temporarily. But that’s just like putting makeup over a wound. It might look a lot better at first but the problem is far from being healed.

For such an enlightened bunch, this is still a huge issue! We think we know this–but most of us still go through life trying to fix ourselves from the outside in.

If you want to feel better with your life, you need to fix the cause of the problem:

Your thoughts.

Because how you think always determines how you feel.

So if you’re suffering through something in life, it’s time for a little mental TLC.

You can’t change many events or circumstances in life but you can change the way you feel about them!

So in order to feel good, your mind just needs a little tune-up!

The world isn’t conspiring against you! But the thoughts you have about the world are.

When you’re suffering through something, your ego or shadow self has actually stepped in to twist the knife and prove that all your worst fears are coming true!

Of course, that will make you feel terrible. ????

When you’re in the middle of feeling terrible, it will seem like those thoughts are reality–but there’s always a different perspective to take.

All of our senses-touch, smell, taste, sight–are just relaying information to our brain. And our brain, as brilliant as it is, can only process so much information.

Plus, in addition to our limited information, we also all carry around our own mental filters. We all place more importance on some factors than others. We’ve been trained to think the way we do for our entire life.

The real reason we return to our destructive old thought patterns time and time again (“I’m not enough”, “I’m always alone”, “No one can love me”) is because we’ve gotten really good at thinking them.

It literally takes new energy to think a new thought because your brain has to physically build a new neural pathway.

Remember back in school when it sometimes felt impossible to wrap your mind around new concepts? That’s because your brain was literally forming those new connections. It takes mental AND physical effort to think new thoughts.

(This also explains why I was always so freakin’ hungry in class! ????)

That also means that if you’ve lived your whole life with some damaging ideas about yourself, it’s going to take some effort to retrain your mind!

But it’s not impossible!

And once you can train your brain to think about yourself and the world in a new way, you’ll–magically!–start to feel better.

And here’s another secret:

Every goal you could possibly have is never just about the goal!

It’s all about feeling better.

We want a relationship or a million dollars because we think those things will make us feel better! We think that having a partner saying “I love you” will make you feel loved. Or we think that other people envying our bank account will finally boost our self-esteem.

So what happens if you just learn how to feel better–without the stuff?

You totally can! And that’s as good a reason as any to get started feeling better, today! So let’s get started:


How To Feel Better: 4 Simple Steps


How To Feel Better Step #1:

Realize You’re Choosing Your Thoughts

The world around us happens but it’s always our thoughts about the world that truly matter! That’s exactly why something that’s a huge setback for one person might not be for the next.

For example, when I was splitting up with my ex I was pretty caught up in the shame of getting divorced. For me, it was big! However, I also know people who’ve gotten divorced and barely seemed to blink an eye. We went through the same thing but our feelings about it were totally different. So while I suffered, they did not.

The lesson that I want you to see here is that YOU always get to decide on your beliefs! You get to choose whether every event is worth getting upset about or not. In fact, you’re already making those choices, day in and day out. So tell me, how many of those choices are worth it?

Of course, it’s important to honor your values and to set your boundaries. But much of our internal drama doesn’t make a difference to the world at all! The world keeps turning whether we’re angry or upset. And you always have the choice between suffering or not—so which one are you going to pick?


How To Feel Better Step #2:

Get Neutral

When you first start this work, it might be difficult to jump from your doom-and-gloom overly-dramatic way of looking at the world into light and positivity! So instead of doing a complete 180, let’s just go for a neutral thought instead.

Here’s an example: say you’re having a momentary freak out about your weight. You overdid it last night at dinner or maybe your pants suddenly seem much too small. Your usual pattern in this scenario is hours of self-loathing that not only don’t feel very good, but don’t exactly leave you inspired to take any action either!

So let’s try to go somewhere neutral in your mind first instead of into the mental garbage dumps! After you immediately fall into your well-practiced self-hatred routine: “I hate my stomach” etc–it’s time to switch in to neutrality: “I have a stomach”. Everyone has a stomach. A stomach is important! It does stuff. It’s part of being human. It’s nothing to hate or feel shame about. You shouldn’t feel any thing heavy or negative about having one!

The more you can shift your thoughts away from negativity into a neutral place, the better you will feel.


How To Feel Better Step #3:

Choose What Feels Good

After neutrality, the next step is to pick a thought that feels good. However, if you’re attached to the idea of being right, then this part will likely take some creativity and open-mindedness!

So the next time you’re triggered by something in your life, be honest with yourself: is there another explanation for what you see?

(Hint: there always is!)

All too often we jump to the very worst conclusions about life! We assume the worst. We imagine people want to hurt us or are trying to take us down. We invent drama and stories out of thin air!


Maybe that Tinder match who didn’t message you back actually got back with his ex.

Maybe those friends who didn’t invite you out last night were actually planning your birthday.

Maybe the job you wanted really did get a more qualified candidate!

When we assume the worst, we will feel our worst! So why do we keep focusing on the worst possible scenarios instead of the best?

There are many reasons why a certain situation might have occured–and most of those reasons won’t involve you feeling bad. So let’s open our mind to the possibility of good in the world!

So let’s make it a challenge: think of MULTIPLE reasons for what you’ve observed. Then choose to believe in the one that feels the best.


How To Feel Better Step #4:

Keep Training Your Brain

As you’ve learned, not all of our thought patterns are helpful! But they’ve been ingrained over a life time. And it’s not our fault either! Our brain is really just trying to protect us.

We’ve all been hurt as children, in one way or another. (Yes, even those of us with good childhoods!) And our brains are still on hyper-alert, looking for evidence that our childhood fears are coming true. This is where our negative projections about the world come into play. Hello shame, guilt and abandonment issues! ????

Those old fear patterns might be difficult to break, but it’s far from impossible.

It just requires you paying attention to your thoughts and constantly shifting them to something that feels better.

Truthfully, the art of feeling better is more than a five-minute affair! It’s about retraining your brain and throwing out all that old unhelpful and negative programming that’s contributing to you feeling badly about yourself.

It will take more than one afternoon of honesty and reflection to undo your years of pain training! So give yourself the grace to take the time you need, to practice and grow. This practice will get easier and faster over time.




The one core element that comes into my work again and again is mind management. I wholeheartedly believe in our ability to create our own miracles–and that begins with the way we look at the world.

5 Signs You Need A Life Coach

Full disclosure: I stumbled my way into becoming a life coach.

But it’s understandable why.

In my younger years, I’d never heard of a life coach, much less considered becoming one.

Life coaching just wasn’t as popular or well-understood as it is now! In fact, many people still aren’t really sure what coaching is all about or why they would ever need a life coach themselves.

(BTW if you think it takes guts to work with one just imagine what it’s like to BECOME one yourself!)

There’s still a lot of resistance in the world when it comes to personal development and life coaching. And to that end, I’m still greeted by quizzical looks or blank stares when I tell people what I do.

Thankfully, I think the days of being stigmatized for wanting to work on yourself are slowly coming to an end! You don’t have to hide your self-help book in another book while you’re on the train anymore. And it’s not at all weird to acknowledge your shortcomings to the world at large. (In fact, people seem to LOVE doing this all over Facebook!)

Why should it be embarrassing to admit that sometimes you need an outside perspective and a gentle boost to get your life back in order? Isn’t that miles better than the alternative? (ie. not doing anything and remaining stuck and unhappy?)

Life coaches can’t change your world for you, but they can help to solidify your values and goals and help you create a road map for your future.

And here’s the biggest secret of all:

Most of us have chosen this pathway not because we’re perfect and have never encountered any big problems in life!

We’ve chosen life coaching because we’ve gone through some tough times and we’ve learned some tools along the way to help us deal with it.

My point here is that if you’re unsure what coaching is or if it’s right for you, that’s totally okay!

People will choose a life coach for many reasons. But some reasons are more common than others! And that’s exactly why I put together this quick guide.

Sign You Need A Life Coach #1:

You Don’t Have Goals Or Dreams



When you were a kid, almost every adult you interacted with asked you a very important question:

What do you want to be when you grow up?

But somewhere along the way, people stopped asking. Because of course you’re supposed to have that all figured out already! If not by the age of 20 then definitely by the age of 30 and furthermore, no one’s going indulge you by asking that question ever again.

However, the only constant in life is change! And while society thinks you should be done growing after a certain point (after going to college, getting a job, getting married etc.) the truth is you just DON’T. Your body might have stopped getting taller but your brain, emotion and spirit are in a constant state of transformation.

You’re supposed to be constantly figuring it out! And if you stop, you’re going to know deep down inside that something has gone wrong.

A lack of desires and dreams is a sure-fire sign that you’ve lost touch with the real you! It’s definitely not frivolous or immature to dream of what’s still to come. Growth is crucial to both your overall happiness and to your unique mission in this life.

So if you’re unsure of your purpose and not sure what to do next in life, then it might be time to speak with a life coach to help get you back on track.

You Feel Stuck



Do you find yourself circling through the same problems over and over again in life?

You’re hardly alone if your answer is yes!

Feeling stuck or in a rut is typically a sign that you need to take a new approach. If you’re serious about changing, then something needs to shift! It’s time for you to face your fears in order to move forward.

Look at it this way: when you play a video game, you keep trying out new strategies to make it through to the next level.

But in real life, many of us get stuck on the level we’re currently at! We keep trying the same things over and over again even thought that’s EXACTLY like making Mario jump, miss and fall off the cliff again…and again…and again.

From our inside perspective, it can be difficult to see where the problem is. This is where we’ll get caught up in blame. (“The cliff shouldn’t be there!” “This level shouldn’t be so hard!” “If only X did something different, I wouldn’t be here.”)

But all the blame in the world won’t change Mario world…and it won’t change real life either! Creating different results always requires taking different action–and a life coach is a wonderful person to help you decide on what that action should be.

You made the goals and you achieved them. But now you’re at the finish line wondering “now what?”

It’s super common to feel a let-down after a momentous occasion! So whether you’ve just graduated, gotten married, got the big promotion, your moment of happiness might be shockingly short.

This happens because you were so focused on that ONE big thing you didn’t stop to consider what came afterwards! And that can leave you feeling unsteady and unfocused, even AFTER you got exactly what you always wanted.

But continuing to want more from life isn’t a sign that something has gone wrong! It’s totally NORMAL–and it’s totally okay for you to keep dreaming up new goals and pursuing them wholeheartedly.

There’s only ONE real finish line in life–and we won’t get there until the very end! So don’t freak out if your life never feels “finished” or if you’re peculiarly underwhelmed by what you’ve worked for. That’s all normal and definitely NOT a sign that something’s wrong! A life coach can help you sort through a transition time to figure out where your next step in life should be.
