What Is Human Design?

Before we get into it, let’s stop for a minute to define human design.

Human Design is a system for self-understanding that blends ancient wisdom with modern concepts. It draws on astrology, the Chakra system, Kabbalah, and even quantum physics to create a unique bodygraph based on your birth date, time, and location.

This bodygraph reveals your energy type (like generator or manifestor) and your inner authority (like ego or emotional).

By understanding these aspects, human design aims to empower you to make decisions that resonate with your true nature and live a more aligned life.

What’s An Authority Type?

In the world of human design, your authority is your internal guidance system, helping you navigate life’s choices with clarity. But with different types of authorities, it can get confusing. Every authority type has a unique strategy that allows them to function at their best.

Today, we’re diving deep into ego authority, a powerful tool for those who possess it.

What is Ego Authority?

Ego authority is a rare type, belonging only to Manifestors and Projectors. Unlike other authorities that rely on external cues (like waiting for invitations or emotional highs), ego authority is all about following your heart’s desires. (How fun is that?)

Strategy For Ego Authority: Following Your Desires

The key to an ego authority type lies in the ability to understand that your deepest desires are not selfish. Instead, they’re simply a reflection of your authentic self. When making decisions, don’t be afraid to ask: “What truly excites me? What lights me up?”

Strengthening this inner compass will guide you toward opportunities and experiences that align with your life path.

Work With Your Ego Authority: How to Listen To Your Ego

1. Follow Your Authentic Desire

The tricky thing for ego authority types is to figure out what you truly want.

We’ve all been programmed to want certain things in life. We’re conditioned to value the things we see our friends covet or things we see on social media. Many times, we also experience pressure from our parents to do what they want us to do.

It’s important for you to separate out the desires that truly light you up as opposed to those desires that you’ve simply been programmed to want.

For example, you might have been told that it’s good to pursue money. But if you don’t genuinely want it, trying to get it will always feel like an uphill battle.

Additionally, what you want won’t always make sense nor will everyone around you approve of it. However, it’s still important for you to follow those desires no matter what.

2. Don’t Judge Your Desires

The most important step of unlocking that inner guidance from your Ego is getting rid of any judgments and fears you have over your desires or what they mean/ look like, etc.

The ego is all about your wants. When you have an ego intuition, it means that the right things to choose in your life are the things you want – not what your logical mind or gut or emotions tell you. These are the things that deeply resonate and make you say, ‘I want that.”

Sounds simple enough right? However, this practice can be incredibly challenging. The world has told us that wanting is bad, and that you have to suppress or hide any desires for fame, money, success, and impact because that makes you evil, greedy, or shallow.

It’s important for you to simply lean into your desires and follow them, rather than second-guessing them, ignoring them, or judging them. If you have the desire, that’s the only green light that you need!

3. Remove Unwanted Noise

Our minds are full of conditioning and external influences. However, those with egoic authority have to focus on their unique desires–not their parents, partners, society, etc.

Learn how to tune out that external noise. When you hear other opinions, learn how to let them go. It’s also useful to practice meditation or journaling to quiet the mental chatter and hone in on what you actually want.

4. Trust The Path

Having ego authority in human design means your deepest desires are like internal GPS guiding you towards your full potential. Just be careful to not get hung up on the final destination. Focus on moving one step forward at a time.

Your desires might seem downright weird or illogical at times. But keep trusting that the right thing for you is always waiting right around the corner.

For example, maybe your drive for financial security and wanting a big house leads you to move next door to your soulmate! If you hadn’t followed your desire, you would have missed that magical meet-cute.

5. Forget Your Intuition

Intuitive guidance comes in many forms! But the traditional kind doesn’t quite work for you. Instead of listening to your gut or Higher Self, it’s critical for you to understand that your desires are your intuition.

You don’t need to ask questions or try to figure out if you’re really talking to your intuition or just your fear. You can simply follow your desires and let them lead the way.

Ego Authority Final Thoughts

Remember: It takes practice to tune into your ego authority type. Be patient, experiment, and allow yourself to slowly learn how to trust your desires. Trust the process! The more you practice doing this, the more proof you’ll create that it works.
