Last year I completed my training in hypnosis. But to be perfectly honest, at first, I thought this was just another tool for my life coaching toolkit.

While hypnosis is the perfect way to reprogram your subconscious mind to manifest your desires, I still didn’t think it could be that easy. (Because if it was, what have I been doing all my life?)

While I was definitely interested in the power of hypnosis it took me a while to both study and use the tool before I realized just how big of an impact it would make on my life.

But seriously, who doesn’t have some weird ideas about hypnosis at first? We’ve all seen the “hypnosis magicians” who entertain by getting people to do strange things in front of an audience. And who wants that for themselves? Most of us are terrified of being made fun of in public. Seeing those types of performances definitely goes a long way to creating a hypnosis bias in our minds.

While performance hypnosis is a also real thing, it’s much different than using hypnosis to transform your mindset and manifest your desires. That’s all about taking the same principles but using them to put on a show. But in a coaching setting, hypnosis is much more calm, relaxing, and steady.

(Or in other words, don’t worry! No one’s going to make you bark like a dog!)

The more I dove into the world of hypnosis, the more I began to understand its’ true potential for those of us who are into manifestation. So if you’re feeling stuck or like you just can’t manifest what you want, then I’d highly suggest a hypnosis coaching session to help you get unblocked. And just in case you’re curious about the process, today I’m sharing more about the subconscious mind, hypnosis, and manifestation.

How Hypnosis Can Help You Manifest


Manifestation Blocks & Your Subconscious Mind


Why is it that manifestation is so easy sometimes and sooooo difficult at other times?

That’s because we have a lot of negative subconscious programming around the things that we struggle with the most (like love or money…or both!).

Some stuff is easy for us to manifest because manifestation is simple and straightforward–only until it isn’t. That’s where your subconscious blocks come into play.

Even though we don’t notice it, our subconscious mind controls much of what we do, say, and think day in and day out.

Most of us have some deeply embedded beliefs in our subconscious mind that prevent us from manifesting what we want. For example, thinking “There’s no good single men/women in this town”, “I’m too much of a mess to be successful/loved” etc. Those beliefs seem like simple straightforward facts to you, to the point that you don’t even notice them. But really they’re just secretly getting in your way and preventing you from manifesting what you want. (That’s why they’re called manifesting blocks.)


The Subconscious Mind & Hypnosis


Our subconscious mind was largely programmed before we reached the age of eight, which means we have a lot of practice thinking those low-value thoughts about ourselves! However, even though you might have been carrying around those beliefs for a very long time, you still have the power to change them. The subconscious mind has neuroplasticity: which means that yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

However, programming your subconscious mind isn’t something most of us know how to do–at least not on purpose.

We know how to use our conscious mind–and yes, the thoughts that are in our conscious mind can eventually penetrate the subconscious mind with enough time and repetition.

But there are also ways to speed up the process! Hypnosis is my favorite way of doing that.


How Hypnosis Works


Hypnosis works by speaking to your subconscious mind while it is in an altered state of consciousness. Again, that might sound a little scary at first but we all experience altered states of consciousness every single day! For example, zoning out in front of the TV or that relaxed state right before you fall asleep.

When your mind is more relaxed, you’re able to essentially bypass all the chatter of your conscious mind and speak directly to the subconscious mind. So instead of taking lots of time and repetition to change that old programming, you can create lasting change fast.


 

How A Subconscious Manifestation Session Works


The first step in my Subconscious Manifestation session is getting acquainted and talking about both your goal and where you’re feeling blocked.

I start off with some regular coaching, helping you to reframe the situation where you’re feeling stuck.

Then we move into the hypnosis part. I help you get into a relaxed mental state and we’ll do some further work on clearing up the issue that’s holding you back.

Finally, we’ll wrap up the session with any last questions. In the days following your session, I’ll send you a customized hypnosis or subliminal MP3 to listen to for the next few months to help keep rewiring in those new beliefs.

Hypnosis is much more than a band-aid approach! In our session, we aim to both heal and rewire your mind. This isn’t about getting you inspired and changing your behavior for a (short) period of time. This is about changing your identity and core beliefs permanently so that you automatically begin to think and behave differently and therefore automatically start attracting your manifestation desires.

The Beginner's Guide To Subconscious Reprogramming Tools

The more I’ve learned about manifestation and the Law of Attraction, the more I’ve come to realize the importance that the subconscious mind plays in the equation.

After all, understanding your conscious mind is straightforward. It includes all the stuff you’re consciously deciding on, including your manifestation intentions: “I want to manifest $1000, a new boyfriend, etc”

It all seems so simple enough, right? I mean what could possibly be wrong with achieving those things?

However, your subconscious mind is the one who’s going to throw a wrench into your best-laid plans. As much as you desire the things you do, it probably does not see the world in the same way.

The first problem is that your subconscious brain will always interpret any of your new intentions and goals as scary things that it needs to protect you from. Its main job is to keep you alive but it does that by constantly scanning the world around you for potential “danger”. Unfortunately, it will always categorize anything new as potentially dangerous–and try to prevent you from actually doing it!

Second, the subconscious mind is where we hold old patterns and programming.

This is mostly stuff that happened to us when we were children but it can also old patterns from more recent events (especially if those events were intense or repeated).

These things include unhealed childhood traumas, limiting beliefs, societal programming and basically anything you created an unhealthy narrative around.

But while those things are definitely not your fault (because they were programmed into you) it is up to you to start shifting and changing them.

After all, no one can get inside your mind and do this work for you! You can’t outsource your yoga practice nor can you outsource your inner healing.

Now that you understand this process (and how important it is!) I’m sure you’re excited to get started with it! So today I’m sharing 5 tools to help you start reprogramming your subconscious mind for the life you actually want.




5 Tools For Subconscious Reprogramming


Subconscious Reprogramming Tool #1:

EFT


EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a simple and effective way to rewire your subconscious. But as a big bonus? It’s also free.

That means you can put down your phone right now and do an EFT session to start rewiring whatever it is that you want to heal and reprogram.

EFT simply involves you tapping on some key pressure points while working through a specific issue that you want to work through. (Go look it up on YouTube and follow a session there!) It’s one part affirmations and one part energy work (similar to acupressure). Tapping works by letting old feelings surface and replacing them with new ones.

I’ve been known to bust out some EFT while on walks around my hood so trust me when I say you can do it anywhere! This one’s key for your self-care toolbox simply for its ease and flexibility.


Subconscious Reprogramming Tool #2:

NLP


NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a powerful healing modality that lets you directly communicate with your subconscious mind. Basically, your subconscious brain works in a completely different way than your conscious mind. Instead of logic and words, it operates in pictures and feelings.

This disconnect is why it’s hard to gain control of your subconscious mind. While your conscious mind speaks one language, your subconscious literally speaks another. But when you can start communicating to it the right way, you suddenly have the ability to change its old programs.


Subconscious Reprogramming Tool #3:

Hypnosis


Rest assured, hypnosis isn’t about making someone bark like a dog! It’s not about mind control (or humiliation). But it does offer another wonderful way for us to communicate with our subconscious mind.

Hypnosis works by taking your brainwaves from their (normal consciousness) Beta state down into our Theta (deep relaxation and meditation) state. This is the state of consciousness you naturally occupy just before falling asleep (the bridge between the conscious and unconscious sleep state).

From that deep brainwave state, we’re already naturally more receptive to make changes in the deep part of our subconscious mind. Personally, I love to use hypnosis in conjunction with NLP to truly anchor in the healing and reprogramming required.


Subconscious Reprogramming Tool #4:

Affirmations


Affirmations might sound a little Basic Spiritual B*tch. But there’s a wonderful reason for their perennial popularity: they work. (If you do them the right way that is!)

Affirmations work best with repetition and with emotional charge. That’s how everything gets into our subconscious mind in the first place. So we can also use affirmations to program what we actually want to believe.

The downside is that they take a while to work. Also, sometimes affirmations can actually get in the way if they end up creating cognitive dissonance. For example, if you’re trying to lose weight and you try using the affirmation “I’m so happy for my size ten body.” However, you’re not actually there yet and the more you think about it the more resentful you become of where you’re currently at. In that case, the negative emotions that you’re accidentally triggering will end up doing more harm than good.

To fix it, I’d suggest going to a neutral place first before jumping all the way to where you want to be. Affirmations really do work and if you’re looking for a long-term solution (or a modality that works with the others) this might be a great fit for you.


Subconscious Reprogramming Tool #5:

Journaling


Journaling is another powerful healing modality, albeit that might also suffer from its Basic Spiritual B*tch reputation. ???? And honestly, in my past I’ve never been that enthusiastic journaling. I went through phases but I never made it a Must-Do part of my morning routine–until very recently.

These days journaling is one of my Must-Have’s both for my own mental clarity and happiness and also for my manifesting practice. That’s because writing out your desires is not only an incredibly spiritual practice. But the very act of writing them down over and over again is a wonderful way to rewire your subconscious with some brand new beliefs.

Subconscious reprogramming might sound scary or intimidating at first! But all of these tools I shared today are really just mimicking the way your brain has already learned things. Just remember that if you’re feeling stuck or in a rut that the blocks are probably in your subconscious! With a little love and attention, you can heal and reprogram so that you can move forward into what you truly want in life.

Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind For Success And Happiness!

You might have already noticed: the more you start actively improving your life, the more obvious your fears, blocks and limiting beliefs will become!

We all have them: the erroneous beliefs and ideas that have (mostly) been passed onto us from our family, friends or the media. These are ideas that are not empirically true and perhaps even downright harmful. But because we’ve never stopped for long enough to consider them, they’ll continue to rule our world in all sorts of negative ways.

One of the first steps of becoming a Conscious Creator (meaning: consciously going after your desires and creating your own life!) is becoming aware of this inner “thought garbage”.

But once you notice them, then what? How do you start choosing and living through your new helpful beliefs?

For most of us, this is more than a one-time operation! After all, it took a lifetime of programming and repetition to get you where you are. It’s also going to take some time to undo all that damage!


Learning how to reprogram your subconscious mind is the best way to start getting rid of your “mind junk”!



There isn’t only one path to manifesting! Nor is there only one way to start retraining your brain to stop defaulting into fear and limitation.

So today I want to give you a primer on how to get started.

The path to Conscious Creation and manifestation will look a little bit different for everyone! Think of these suggestions as a toolbox: try them out and make a note of what works best for you! The most important thing is that you get started today if possible! So here are the five best methods to do that:


5 Ways To Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind For Success And Happiness


Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind Tip #1:

Awareness


Simply getting curious and actually noticing your limiting beliefs and fears is a powerful first step! All too often, we’re a prisoner to our thoughts simply because we’ve gone on autopilot. We’ve stopped actively considering whether or not our thoughts and beliefs are true; therefore we’re going to continue to act as if they are without question.

But what if those thoughts aren’t actually true at all? When you slow down and unpack those thoughts, it’s easy to see how untrue and even harmful they are! After you do that, it’s much easier to start actively choosing new thoughts and beliefs to replace them.

The truth is you can live your life any way you want to–and maybe you should try out some thoughts that actually feel good and serve your bigger purposes.


Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind Tip #2:

Meditation


Okay so meditation isn’t about reprogramming per se. But it is a fantastic tool to help you learn how to observe and control your own mind.

No one’s born with a user manual for their own brain! But meditation comes close. Learning mind control has been one of the most powerful experiences in my life (and hopefully in yours too!).

However, I know meditation is a loaded term for many of you! So please know that there are many ways to meditate but please know that you don’t have to become a monk for it to work properly!

Meditation helps you to see the difference between you and your thoughts. I know all too well how easy it is to let your thoughts run off with you. But they’re not you. You’re actually mostly just experiencing them, like watching a movie in your mind.

However this begs the bigger question: if your thoughts are able to be observed, then who’s doing the observing? It’s this wonderful realization that helps us understand our true nature as a spiritual being having a human experience. It’s a very powerful thing to realize that your thoughts are not you and they definitely do not have to be boss! Play around with this until you get this and you will understand.


Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind Tip #3:

Affirmations


If the goal is to retrain your brain to think healthy shiny brand-new thoughts, then affirmations are a great way to make that happen! They’re actually about much more than just faking it till you make it! They actually help your brain to rewire and fire in brand new ways.

The secret sauce here is of course repetition–which only makes sense! It took a lifetime of repetition to program your subconscious with unhelpful thoughts. It only stands to reason that the same method could also help to change that old programming.

To use affirmations, simply pick a phrase or sentence that you resonate with. As with everything in life, the more of an emotional connection you have to it the better! Then just keep repeating that affirmation to yourself over and over (like a mantra). I love this because you can easily do it while you’re out and about and going through your normal daily routine. (Ease and convenience? Yes please!)

However, I also know there are a lot of people out there who hate affirmations! And that’s totally okay. If this one automatically makes you go ugh then go ahead and concentrate on one of the other methods.


Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind Tip #4:

Hypnosis


Hypnosis isn’t just kooky TV-magic-show stuff! It’s real and it’s also one of the most powerful methods for reprogramming our subconscious mind for success.

In practical terms, hypnosis usually doesn’t look that different from a guided meditation. The only difference is that you’re being selective about the soundtrack you’re feeding your brain! When you’re extremely relaxed, your brain is automatically much more susceptible to the power of suggestion. So why not use that tendency for our own purposes?

I’m a fan of using hypnosis when when your brain is the most malleable: right before you go to sleep. When your body is getting ready to go to sleep, your breathing has become deeper and your body is more relaxed. In this state, your body is automatically producing alpha waves.

Listening to a hypnosis meditation during this time is a powerful way to rewire your mind for success! Plus it’s also easy to do: just put on your headphones and press play.

Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind Tip #5:

Acting As If


Acting as if is another way to anchor in your new beliefs. Again, this is about more than faking it till you make it or simply building confidence. It’s about training your mind (and body) to integrate your new ideas.

One of the biggest barriers we have towards is our own habits! Despite wanting to change things in our life, most of us get up and do/think/say the same things day in and day out. It sounds crazy but even doing something minor (like brushing your teeth using your non-dominant hand) actually makes your brain wire and fire brand new neural connections.

So what happens if you stop waiting until you’re “ready” and just start doing what you know deep down inside that you’re supposed to do?

Acting as if forces you out of your safe little bubble and into the weird new territory of creating a new identity. In the end, we always manifest when our insides match up with what we want! It might feel fake and pointless at first but if you can challenge yourself to do/think/say things from the person you want to be, one day (very soon!) you’re actually going to be that person!
