I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately asking about the masculine side of the bed and the feminine side of the bed in Feng Shui. It seems like everyone is interested in how to change their energy with this one simple trick.

The bedroom is one of the most crucial places to get your feng shui right! After all, you are spending about one-third of your average day there. That’s a lot of time to be surrounded by potentially dark or blocking energy. It should always be your sanctuary of rest and renewal, not someplace that’s accidentally stressing you out.

Sides of The Bed in Feng Shui
What does the masculine and feminine side of the bed have to do with manifesting love? Turns out, it’s quite a lot!
In feng shui, the bed represents the union of yin (feminine) and yang (masculine) energies. The positioning of your bed can significantly impact the balance of these energies and, consequently, your love life.
In Feng Shui, you literally absorb the energy of the space you’re in. So sleeping on the masculine side if you’re a woman might put you more in your masculine than you want to be. And therefore, it might just be the reason you’re repelling love.
To be clear, this has nothing to do with gender. We all have masculine and feminine sides. In feng shui, these are called Yin and Yang and they are both important. There’s no need to totally eliminate one side from your personality!
However, when it comes to manifesting love (or keeping an existing relationship spicy) playing with that magnetism is how you can attract love or how you stay interesting and attractive to your partner. (Yes, this applies to non-heteronormative partnerships as well.)
Think about one of the Laws of the Universe polarity. Or in other words, opposites always attract.

In other words, yes the rumors are true: manifesting love with feng shui can be as easy as changing where you sleep on the bed.
To figure out which side of the bed is which, look at your bed from the bottom (or foot) looking up towards the headboard. The feminine side is the left-hand side and the masculine side is the right-hand side.

If you want to attract a man into your life or amp up your own feminine energy, then try sleeping on the left-hand side. Not only will this amplify your own feminine energy, but keeping the right-hand side open creates a “void” that will also help to attract a man.

The feminine side of the bed in feng shui is the right-hand side.
If you are looking to attract a female partner, or amp up your masculine energy, try sleeping on the masculine side (right-hand side). Keeping the left hand side free will also help to attract a feminine partner.

What happens if I sleep in the middle?
There’s never a problem with where you sleep at all! Sleeping the middle is a neutral approach and that might be just fine for you. But you might want to switch things up if your energy feels unbalanced or you’re looking to attract a partnership.
What if my partner and I have been sleeping on the wrong sides for years?
If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! Perhaps you work best by sleeping on the supposedly “wrong” sides. In this case, carry on and do what works best for you.
What if i can’t change sides?
There might be a lot of reasons why you can’t change sides of the bed. But don’t let that freak you out! There are also lots of other ways you can change your energy with feng shui so simply try one of those instead.
