It’s all too easy to become susceptible to the fear and anger floating around in the world, especially after the last week.
But all that negativity truly becomes dangerous when you begin feel helpless or like you can’t make a difference.
Feeling helpless is a sign that you’ve given your personal power away.
But you don’t have to give in.
While we must all do our part to fight the battles ahead, the real battle always begins on the inside.
Needless to say, being spiritual doesn’t give us exemption from caring about the world at large! If anything, it should make us hyper-aware of the change that needs to happen.
We must band together now to end oppression and hate. And the shift will always begin within our hearts, within our minds, within the seemingly small parameters of our own life.
So with all of that in mind, I’ve got a few suggestions for you today:
7 Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #1:
Lead From Love
Hate cannot eradicate hate. Love is the only answer and that means concentrating on our similarities, not our divides. We need to breed even more understanding not create an even larger gap. You always have the ability to make a loving choice. So spread your own loving energy out as far and wide as you can.
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #2:
Get Curious About The World
Right now, it’s much easier to get caught up on the confusing facts and figures floating around out there, than it is to keep asking questions. But it’s important to keep going for the why. The world cannot change without first creating understanding. So don’t argue for the sake of standing your ground. Keep asking questions. Curiosity is a symptom of an open mind. It invites further conversation and introspection for everyone involved.
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #3:
Honor The Divine Feminine
As much progress as has been made in the last century, the events of the last week show there’s still a long way to go. It’s time to stand strong and support our brothers, sisters (and ourselves).
We can succeed if we unite and amplify ourselves. Seek to honor your own voice and the voice of your fellow womankind. Look for the ways that you can help out where it is needed. It’s more important than ever to do so. It can be big or small; it doesn’t matter. The point is that now is the time to reclaim our divine feminine power and it will take all of us to do so.
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #4:
Remember you still have ultimate dominion over yourself; no leader, state or nation can take that away from you. Now is a great time to burrow down and become an even stronger version of yourself. Keep focused on your goals and keep taking action towards creating a better world. Self work is something we all need to do, in order to honor both ourselves and our fellow mankind.
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #5:
Get Out Of The Fear Bubble
Don’t let fear make you small! Realize that fear can be used as a form of mind control. If you find yourself losing hope or feeling disempowered, it might be a good time to take a news or social media break. Of course, awareness is crucial; but many of us have a difficulty drawing a definitive line between external events and ourselves. If you need to give your mind or your heart a break, then do it.
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #6:
Stay aware that we can create our echo chambers within our own reality. Whatever you’re putting out, you’re also going to get back. That means more you yell and rage the more hate and anger you’ll find echoing back to you. So be mindful of what energy you’re putting out there! Because that’s ultimately the only thing we can control in this crazy world.
Spiritual Things We Can Do For The World Right Now #7:
Commit To Selective Action
This is not the time to be passive and stick your proverbial head in the sand. You will soon be called upon to stand up against bigotry, sexism, homophobia and hate, in one way or another.
However, it’s also important to be selective about where to use your voice. Posting endless political memes or getting involved with arguments on Facebook might feel like you’re doing something. But in the end, we all need to take action in the real world, not just online.
Choose the battles that matter. Listen to your heart and intuition to decide when your voice is needed. And then use it.
I hope this post gives you some inspiration and hope during these turbulent times. While we must all shine our light a little brighter to off-set the dark, there’s no need to feel helpless. The only thing we can truly control is ourself.
