Prime Yourself: The Power Of The Token Object

Looking for a powerful way to manifest using your home? Introducing: the token object.

I talk a whole lot of about the collective powers of decluttering, KonMari-ing and Feng Shui-ing your home into tip-top shape.

But there’s another secret power tool I like to throw into the equation.

The Token Object.

Let me explain how it all works.

Take a look around your home. Pay attention to the things you’ve chosen to surround yourself with.

Now think for a moment about your bigger life goals (vacations, promotions, relationships – whatever that might be for you.

Do you see those things represented in your space?

For most people, the answer is no.

And that’s a shame.

Your home should be filled with things that you love and that inspire you, including things are relevant to your hopes and dreams for the future.

Vision boards operate on the principle that seeing your goals in front of you will motivate you into taking action.

The exact same thing can be done using your entire space as the board.

Because it’s not the board itself that creates the magic. It’s the act of you making your goals tangible and keeping them in your sight.

You can prime your brain to take you there by surrounding yourself with things that remind you of it.

Pretty cool right?

Wanna learn more? Here’s my quick and easy guide to the world of Token Objects.

How To Chose A Token Object For Your Home

1. Set Your Goal

The first step for any journey is figuring out where you want to go. So what’s your goal? If one doesn’t spring to mind immediately, it’s time to reconnect. Sit down and make a list. Let yourself dream about big scary things and decide on a few to focus on. Goal setting should be inspiring and energizing so really take the time to dig in here.

2.Find Your Object

Now it’s time to get creative: how can you break down your goals into a physical expression? What small (or large) item could you choose to remind you of where you want to go next?

It doesn’t have to be a literal translation (ie. a photo of a beach for your beach vacation). Nor does this have to cost you a lot of money.

The only important thing is that is has meaning and connection for you.

You could find something in nature, a tiny treasure from a junk shop or buy a fancy new designer tchotchke. It’s entirely up to you.

3. Connect The Two

This step is optional but I always like to really charge up my Token Objects by sitting with them. All you need to do is to hold (if possible) your object in your hands for a few minutes and really think about your goal. Imagine yourself in the future doing/being/having whatever it is. Make it as real and vivid as possible. Once you’ve got that bright image in your mind’s eye, then you can proudly display your object in your space. (Always be sure to make sure it’s somewhere you’ll see it regularly!)

4. Re-Evaluate

Our goals (like our life) is not a static thing. Meaning you’ll have to take some time now and again to reassess and see if you’re still on track. It’s always okay to change your focus so don’t feel like once you’ve chosen your goal you’re stuck with it forever.

The important thing is to make your home supportive for the future you want right now.

So feel free to reassess and rearrange things as often as necessary.

I hope this mini-lesson on Token Objects serves you well! If you try it out, come back and let me know how it works for you. See you back here next week for more!
