Wondering how to feel powerful?

I deeply believe that we’re all born with the power to create our world. Our natural right is to be Conscious Creators: getting to both actively design and create our own life. The problem is that most of us don’t know that anymore! And it’s no real wonder why.

Let me ask you honestly: do you know how fucking powerful you are?

If you’re like so many of us, my guess is that you don’t.

The truth is that if your life is not living up to what you think it should be, then you’ve probably forgotten.

But that isn’t your fault! We’ve all been trained to forget.

School, our families, our friends, the media–they’ve all taught us how to play small.

That’s because it’s fucking difficult to manage a classroom of BIG BOLD SASSY VOICES. It’s easier to go through the school system (and be a child in a family) when you listen quietly and do what you’re told. Eat when you’re told to, pee when you’re allowed to.

(ie. IGNORE or downplay your own bodily functions. I mean fuck.)

You’ve been trained to do things on other people’s time schedules, to care about what they tell you to care about, to hug people you don’t want to hug, to ignore every single message your intuition is giving you.

Learning how to fit in has natural consequences! This socialization process teaches us to fit in, not how to lead. Over the years, we’ve naturally lost touch with our own desires, intuition and inner strength.

By adulthood, we’ve effectively learned how to fit in but we’ve also lost an important part of us. Somewhere along the way that included forgetting who we really are and what we’re capable of.

Our inner voice is our strongest source of inner power. And all of that societal training means we’ve also learned to stop listening to it.

We’ve learned how to tune out our authenticity so effectively that many of us have forgotten it was ever even there.

If right now you’re feeling a little lost or disconnected, it’s really no surprise.

But you’re not alone! So many of us are suffering acutely from anxiety and depression that stems directly from our inherently low self-esteem.

And if you want to go against the grain, to stand out and to go BIG in life, you need to take steps to counter all that negative stuff!

After we stop trusting ourselves, we stop loving ourselves. We have to try to hard to fit in that we begin to think there’s something wrong with us for not doing it naturally. We become acutely aware of the struggle we face and the ease with which everyone else seems to be handling it.

This internal struggle makes it all too easy to believe there’s something inherently wrong with us.

Of course, losing touch with ourselves is only the beginning of bigger problems!

When we don’t know how to love ourselves, we need the world to love us. We run after love. We force and coerce and bargain for it instead of believing we’re inherently deserving of it.

When we don’t listen to the voice in our heart, we feel unmoored in the world. We become stressed out because no matter what we do there’s that little voice in the back of our head telling us we’re not good enough.

If you don’t believe in your own power, then you’ll spend your time looking for permission to be happy, to be loved, to be successful. You’ll still think you need to earn or strive or bargain to get what you really want.

All of those behaviors stem from a deep sense of unworthiness.

It’s a vicious cycle. It happens to almost everyone. And few people are even aware that it actually happened.

So if you’ve arrived in adulthood feeling confused and out of touch with yourself, I want you to know that it’s okay. This isn’t your fault!

There are two main things you need to do to get your power back.


How To Feel Powerful Step #1: Awareness


The first step to healing is becoming aware of the problem.

What beliefs do you have that are telling you you’re not powerful? Get curious and listen in to your own thoughts.

Is that voice inside telling you that can’t happen for someone like you.

You’re too weak. You’ll never figure it out. It’s too hard.

No judgment here! Acknowledge whatever you find and move on to the next step.


How To Feel Powerful Step #2: Replace Toxic Beliefs


The second is to locate of all those beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world that are plain fucking WRONG so we can replace them with ones that are helpful.

Notice the toxic thought. Then ask: what would be more powerful to believe instead?

Then you keep directing your attention back to the new thought until it eventually replaces the old one.

It takes time of course! But it works.

Until we actively question our own values and beliefs, we’re living on autopilot. We’re living by default, not life with purpose. We’re living in a world that was created for us instead of one we created ourselves.

And we’re most certainly not stepping into our true power.

Trust me, your life WOULD be wildly different if you really believed in yourself.

Your life WOULD feel amazing if you dared to truly LOVE and accept yourself.

You’d feel content and empowered and fucking confident in your abilities.

The question is, do you feel any of those things?

I’m guessing that since you’re here, you need a little help!

Because if you were in your power and living the life you want, you wouldn’t need me!


How To Feel Powerful Final Notes


When you’re secure in your power, you’re also 100% confident in your abilities. You know your power and you fucking OWN it. You’re on FIRE with passion for yourself and the world.

Undoing the work won’t come naturally. You’ve got to push yourself to achieve it! You’ve got to locate the unhelpful thought patterns, tune into your intuition and claim your own power.

No one else can do the work for you. But I’m happy to help guide you on your way.

Because I believe in you. And I believe this journey is worth it.

So keep up the work! Keep pushing yourself, even when it feels weird or you forget what the point is.

The farther you go, the easier it will get.

So don’t you dare stop until your reality reflects what you believe!
